Dedicated to the memory of Chris Leonard

This page is a tribute to Chris Leonard, who was born on 19th March, 1961. He was a much loved husband, father and friend known not only for the love of his family but also his love of Chelsea FC, craft beers and flamboyant shirts.

Following a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in his brain in September 2018, Chris underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant with bravery and humour, never complaining and always showing a positive outlook. His only concern was for his family and how they were affected as they were always his priority.  He went into remission in July 2019 but sadly the cancer returned in September and despite having intensive radiotherapy and trialling a new drug, the disease was too aggressive and he passed away peacefully at home on 29th December 2019 with Mandi, Sophie, Hannah and Jake by his side.

Chris was able to join the family at the table for Christmas lunch and enjoyed a good malt whisky that evening. He became very unwell on Boxing Day and his final four days were spent at home with the people he loved most, sharing laughter, tears and memories but most importantly surrounded in love.

Chris received fantastic care throughout his illness from The Royal Surrey County Hospital. The Royal Marsden, St Peter's Hospital and in the later stages Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, who cared for him and his family with compassion and dignity and enabled his wish to remain at home.

We request no flowers at the funeral but if anyone would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers to Woking & Sam Beare Hospice, this can be done directly through this page or on the day.
